Data storing on two SANs with storage virtualisation and tiered storage (tier 1 and tier 2).

PROJECT

High availability solution for IBM i systems through hardware-based asynchronous replication mechanisms.

The solution was built using the functionalities of IBM PowerHA, IBM i and IBM Global Mirror systems cluster.

IMPACT

RPO (Recovery Point Objective) reduction of the IBM i system to values very close to zero, thus guaranteeing that lost application transactions in case of disaster are practically null.

It allowed an almost 100% availability of the application, while ensuring permanent access of the consumers to the commercial platform.

CAR MANUFACTURING

INFRASTRUCTURE

Virtualisation infrastructure present at only one data centre composed by multiple Vmware servers and by a single centralized storage.

Compatible with several virtual servers with critical applications to the business.

PROJECT

Data safeguarding solution and replication of virtual machines between 2 data centres.

The solution allows the recovery of critical applications for the business with minimum data loss (1 hour).

IMPACT

Reduction of the recovery time of the Vmware virtualised infrastructure to values much lower than those demanded by the management of the corporate group (RPO went from 4 hours to 1 hour).

Benefits for the car manufacturing business are quite significant, since they made it possible to ensure the continued operation of the production lines.
